Young People's Summer Workshops

This summer the Young People’s Advice Centre (YPAC) have been doing training workshops for young people, in collaboration with Step Forward and Young Workpath, in Tower Hamlets. The workshops are specifically for young people with special educational needs and disabilities to give them extra support. Three of these workshops have been done already, and were on skills for life, travelling in London, and CVs and Cover letters. The young people that attended the workshops found it very beneficial, as they learned new skills and information, such as what young people can do to improve their CV’s. The next set of trainings will look at healthy relationships, what jobs are out there and young people’s participation.

YPAC supports young people with special educational needs and disabilities in various ways, such as supporting young people through the process of gaining an Education Health Care Plan. YPAC also has a Youth Forum for young people with special educational needs and disabilities, called Our Time, cooking sessions which is known as Our Kitchen, and trips, such as Thorpe Park.
